Winter Pruning

Especially in Minnesota, winter is the time of year when many plants stop actively growing. When these plants go dormant, winter and early spring are typically the best times to prune and shape your trees and shrubs. We recommend pruning at end of winter or very early spring before any new growth starts. This allows the plant to put its energy towards producing new, healthy growth when the spring rolls around.
